The Gage and Laws Families
Robert Gage
Robert Gage was William Charles Gages' younger brother. Robert enlisted on 1st November 1915, joining the 158th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. He went overseas on 19th December 1917 and was wounded on Christmas Day 1917. After returning to the front he was gassed on 30th September 1918 and admitted to hospital before returning home. He was finally discharged from the Army on 31st March 1920 and went on to marry Olive, living in Little Dunham for the rest of his life.
Robert Sydney Laws
Robert Sidney Laws was the brother of Arthur Laws. He joined the Royal Garrison Artillery in 1901 and served until 1913. He rejoined the Army with Arthur and William Gage on 28th August 1914 in Norwich. He served through the First World War supplying ammunition to the front line. After the war he worked as a Blacksmith and Cycle Manufacturer.

Smith Gage
Smith Gage was in the Grenadier Guards until December 1917 when he transferred to the military police. After the war he became a civilian policeman and moved to Sale in Cheshire.
